A couple of trees were knocked down likely due to a lightning strike in the Lago Mar subdivision in Virginia Beach.

A seasonably humid and unstable environment allowed for widespread storms to develop across portions of central and eastern Virginia during the afternoon of July 27. These storms produced damaging winds and isolated hail as they congealed into a line while moving generally southeast to south.
