Wider weather episode
Widespread storms developed across portions of central and eastern Virginia during the afternoon of July 27. These storms congealed into a line while moving generally southeast to south. Gusty winds were reported across the Chesapeake Bay, Rappahannock River, York River, and James River on July 27.
