Ocala emergency management reported lightning caused a structure fire along NE Jacksonville Rd and NE 35th St. The cost of damage was unknown but estimated for inclusion in Storm Data. It is likely a gross underestimate.

A surface front was nudged southward across the local area through the day as high pressure strengthened north of the region. The front combined with high moisture, weak storm motion and diurnal instability with additional sea breeze forcing produced localized heavy rainfall across the area.
