Thunderstorms developed over northern South Dakota and southern North Dakota as a surface low and inverted trough moved through the area. The majority of the severe weather remained over South Dakota, while only one storm became severe over North Dakota. This storm produced one inch diameter hail south of Bismarck in Burleigh County, and 71 mph wind gusts at the Mandan Airport in Morton County.
