A line of severe thunderstorms developed over southwest North Dakota ahead of an upper level short-wave trough, and moved easterly into south central North Dakota before dissipating. Strong winds occurred with these storms, with the strongest winds estimated to be 80 mph near Fairfield in Billings County where multiple power lines were blown down.
