Event narrative

High temperatures in Southeastern Arizona were 12 degrees above normal, causing Major HeatRisk. The Tucson International Airport reached a high temperature of 113 degrees Fahrenheit. The Pima County Medical Examiner found that the cause of death for two individuals, one in Tucson and one in Three Points, to be heat caused and one individual in Tucson's cause of death was heat contributed.

Temperatures in Southeastern Arizona were near 8 to 12 degrees above normal with Major HeatRisk. The Pima County Medical Examiner found that the cause of death for 5 individuals, with two in Tucson were heat contributed and three individuals, two in Tucson and one in Three Points, were heat caused. An Extreme Heat Warning was in effect the lower elevations on July 9th for the Tucson Metro area westward.
