Event narrative

Flooding was shown at the Campo del Sol subdivision in northeast El Paso. In addition, media showed flooding on the Interstate 10 on ramp near downtown El Paso.

Wider weather episode

A deep moisture plume moved into the Rio Grande Valley with a low level convergence area setting up in the same area. This brought showers and thunderstorms to the El Paso area which stalled out near the Franklin Mountains. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches fell quickly and caused flash flooding around downtown and northeast El Paso.
