A public rain gage around SE 105th Place measured approximately 4.48 inches of rainfall. Other nearby observations indicated 3.5 to 4.1 inches. Rain began around 8:35 pm.

A broad surface low developing along the sea breeze merger across the area. This convergence over a moist and unstable produced locally heavy rainfall.
