Event narrative

Several large tree branches snapped at a home west of Leavenworth.

Wider weather episode

A line of storms intensified during the early evening as it traveled southeast along the Minnesota River Valley in south-central Minnesota. The storms were initially more pulse-like, but a locally enhanced wind threat developed thanks to the formation of a rear inflow jet.

Areas of reported damage came out of Brown and Watonwan counties, with several trees and branches being snapped or knocked down. The line weakened as it progress into Blue Earth county.
