Event narrative

The public reported penny to quarter size hail in north end of Wind River Canyon.

Wider weather episode

A cold front moved across Wyoming and brought severe thunderstorms to central portions of the state. The main impact from the storms was large hailin Johnson, Hot Springs, Natrona and Fremont Counties. The largest hail was ping pong ball sized hail in Johnson County to the south of Buffalo. The Natrona County airport near Casper had around a 10 minute period of high wind, with gusts as high as 66 mph.
