A mesonet station 4 miles north-northeast of Lyle measured a 65 mph wind gust.

Wider weather episode

During the late afternoon and early evening hours on July 27th, a line of strong to severe storms moved through portions of southeast Minnesota. These storms produced a 65 mph wind gust along with some tree damage in Mower County before exiting south into Iowa.
