Candler County dispatch reported that lightning struck a power line and caused it to fall into the roadway at the intersection of Greenwood Circle and Brannen Road.

Wider weather episode

Numerous clusters of thunderstorms developed across interior southeast Georgia starting in the early afternoon hours. These storms steadily progressed eastward through the late afternoon producing damaging wind gusts and frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes.
