Event narrative

The mesonet station located eight miles west of Slapout measured a gust of 60 mph at 1655CDT, then measured a gust of 71 mph at 1710CDT. The final severe wind gust occurred at 1715 CDT which was 63mph.

Wider weather episode

During the afternoon of July 21st, a line of thunderstorms formed along a boundary expanding roughly from Amarillo northeast to Beaver County, Oklahoma. A few storms developed along this boundary, which eventually became severe and produced microburst winds that caused damage in both Beaver County, Oklahoma and Carson County, Texas.
