A waterspout was spotted between Caddy Bayou and Half Moon Island in the Mississippi Sound.

Scattered thunderstorms developed over coastal waters and inland lakes on July 6, 2025. A gust of 39 mph (34 kt) was measured at the Pontchartrain Causeway during a thunderstorm over Lake Pontchartrain. Later in the afternoon, boaters observed two waterspouts between Bayou Caddy and Half Moon Island in the Mississippi Sound.
