Heavy rainfall caused the closure of Kings Highway at MP 5.1 near Douglas, AZ. A nearby gauge reported 1.15 inches of rainfall.

Wider weather episode

Storms in the early morning hours produced between 0.25 to 0.80 inches of rainfall in the lower valley floor and between 1.0 to 2.80 inches in the Catalina and Rincon Foothills. This rainfall caused multiple roads to close in the Tucson Metro and in Benson, AZ. Additionally, utility equipment was damaged due to lightning and caused a power outage for 183 customers.
