Two trees were downed with a car stuck between the two fallen trees along Route 199 near Millerton.

Wider weather episode

Hot and humid conditions continued across portions of eastern New York on July 25, 2025 ahead of a passing cold front. Peak heat index values (feels like temperatures) between 95 and 102 degrees were observed mainly near and south of the Capital District. In addition, scattered showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of the cold front during the afternoon hours with one storm becoming severe downing trees and wires along its path across Columbia and Dutchess counties.
