Brief landspout tornado developed over an open field in Custer County. 3 power poles were damaged. A virtual damage assessment was completed with a rating of EF-0 and 85 MPH max wind gusts.

Wider weather episode

Broad southwesterly flow was in place over the area, which allowed for high terrain thunderstorms to develop. With adequate shear and instability in place, a supercell tornado developed across Teller County, with a landspout tornado within the Wet Mountain Valley in Custer County.
