The Elk RBX Fire started in early August due to a lightning strike 11 miles southeast of Meeker, Colorado. The fire grew to 14,518 acres before it was contained in mid August. The fire destroyed 4 residential homes and one outbuilding. The estimated cost to date was $10,300,000.
