Event narrative

The Grease Fire started in early August due to a lightning strike 12 miles west-southwest of Meeker, Colorado. The fire grew to 1,000 acres before merging into the Lee Fire and acreage was combined for both fires one day later, in which the complex was then just known as the Lee Fire. The end date and time is the moment when the Grease was combined into the Lee Fire. See Lee Fire episode for further information.
