The Coulter Creek Fire started in early August due to an undetermined cause 4 miles northeast of Carbondale, Colorado. However, lightning in the days prior was suspected to be a factor. The fire grew to 107 acres before it was contained one day later in early August. No homes were lost, but one outbuilding was destroyed.
