The public reported quarter sized hail in Charles City. The report was provided via social media.

During the late afternoon and evening hours on September 16th, a couple of pop up thunderstorms developed across much of Iowa and produced sporadic instances of large hail. In Floyd County, two particular storm cells rapidly developed and dropped hail between quarter to golf ball size in portions of the county.
