Scattered thunderstorms developed along a weak surface front, generally near the Interstate 44 corridor, during the afternoon and evening of the 11th. Strong instability, steep lapse rates and weak wind shear promoted mainly disorganized thunderstorm modes with multiple downburst wind events (and associated damage) along with a few large hail reports.
