Bessie (BESS) Mesonet observation.

Wider weather episode

A broad belt of northwesterly flow aloft extended across the WFO Norman Forecast Area on the 24th. An embedded mid-level impulse instigated a round of intense severe weather across northwestern Oklahoma during the evening hours. This included a transient supercell thunderstorm that impacted portions of Woodward, Dewey and Custer Counties. This thunderstorm produced widespread wind damage, including observations of severe wind gusts exceeding 90 mph.
