Event narrative

The West Fork fire started on 8/19 23 miles north of West Yellowstone in the Custer Gallatin National Forest. The fire has been ongoing throughout the whole month of September. As of 9/1, the fire burned 963 acres of timber (grass and litter understory) and brush, and was 80% contained. As of September 31st, the fire is still at 963 acres at a 90% containment. No damages were reported with the wildfire.
