An upper low crossed the region on the 9th, dragging a cold front into the region later in the day/evening. In the meantime, daytime heating allowed for development of showers and storms across northern Michigan. Storms primarily produced wind gusts of 35-45mph, and pea to dime size hail, though hail up to nickel size was noted at the North Central Michigan College campus in Petoskey, MI.
