Wind gust to 41mph observed at KAPN, Alpena Regional Aiport, Alpena, MI with thunderstorms moving through the area. Additional wind gust of 40mph observed with earlier storms.

Wider weather episode

An upper low crossed the region on the 9th, dragging a cold front into the region later in the day/evening. In the meantime, daytime heating allowed for development of showers and storms across northern Michigan. Storms primarily produced wind gusts of 35-45mph, and pea to dime size hail, though hail up to nickel size was noted at the North Central Michigan College campus in Petoskey, MI.
