Quarter size hail with 40 to 50 mph winds reported at this location.

Thunderstorms developed over northwestern Nebraska along a surface trough of low pressure during the early evening hours of August 17th. This activity tracked east across northern Nebraska into the late evening hours producing hail up to golf ball size in the Ainsworth area. Quarter size hail was also reported in Sheridan County north of Ellsworth.
