Trained spotter reports a lot of quarter to ping-pong ball size hail; enough to cover the ground.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed over Northwest Kansas in the late afternoon and early evening. A thunderstorm moving over Atwood had the largest hail reported; golf ball size. Elsewhere wind gusts around 60 MPH were measured at St. Francis and Oberlin. A dust storm associated with thunderstorm winds was reported north of Blakeman along a broken line of thunderstorms as the storms moved north.
