There were a couple of fatalities presumed to be due to the Heat with a Male, 56, in 97209 zip code, and a Female, 55 (Clackamas County). Additionally there were reported elevated County 911 calls due to the heat and elevated hospital/urgent care heat related visits for both Multnomah county and Clackamas county.

Wider weather episode

An upper level ridge of high pressure centered over the Four Corners region shifted northward into the Pacific Northwest leading to well above normal temperatures through this period. High temperatures peaked in the 90s to 100-105 range across the inland valleys with overnight low temperatures in the 60s to low 70s exacerbating heat related impacts.
