Hot and humid conditions ahead of an upper level disturbance and surface boundary generated enough instability to drive the development of scattered thunderstorms across southern Vermont on the afternoon of August 13, 2025. One storm in particular reached severe magnitude, inflicting wind damage to trees and wires along North Road at Beacon Hollow Road and Sunderland Hill Road near Arlington.
