A NMDOT site on the Lordsburg Playa recorded a peak wind gust of 71 mph.

Wider weather episode

A weak upper trough extending southwest to northeast across the area triggered thunderstorms over southwest New Mexico. One storm became severe with wind gusts over 70 mph and outflow winds created areas of blowing dust around Interstate 10.
