Flash flooding was reported by the Emergency Manager which shut down Interstate 10, Executive and Paisano as well as water rescues being needed at Mesa and Mesita. A nearby Mesonet site recorded 1.8 inches in one hour.

Wider weather episode

A weak upper trough extending southwest to northeast across the area triggered slow moving thunderstorms in El Paso which led to flash flooding on the west side.
