Thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at 65 mph downed multiple trees in Durand.

Wider weather episode

An area of scattered storms quickly developed during the afternoon of Friday, August 15th across parts of central Minnesota. The storms then weakened as they moved into western Wisconsin, but there were a couple reports of damaging wind as the core of the storms quickly dropped to the surface. The damage included multiple downed trees as well as some downed power lines.
