A gust of 39 mph was recorded by the MnDOT Mesonet station MN166 T.h.61 Grand Marais MP 110.8.

The wider storm

Another complex of thunderstorms developed the night of the 8th into the 9th across the Northern Plains and pushed eastward across the Northland during the morning hours. Storms were weakening as they reached Lake Superior, but did produce a few strong gusts in the Grand Marais area to around 40 mph as they moved through.
