The Mountain Wildfire was discovered on August 11th. The fire started 7 miles southeast of Newell in Modoc County, California. The cause of the fire is unknown. As of 530 AM PST on August 17th, it had burned 980 acres, was 100% contained, no structures had been destroyed, and it had cost $ 0.575M.
