What the National Weather Service wrote
A thunderstorm wind gust of 42 mph/37 knots was recorded at the Mesnot station IRNS1 Navsea 1 at Dania Beach. Anemometer height is 25 feet.
The wider storm
The northern extent of a tropical wave and a stalled boundary near north Florida provided some enhancement to accompany diurnal heating and the sea/land breezes on August 9, 2025 which allowed for strong thunderstorms to develop over the Atlantic coast.
Began near Port Everglades (26.0600, -80.1100).
