Drought August 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025 · Inland Miami-dade, Florida
What the National Weather Service wrote
Inland Miami-Dade County began the month of August in a severe (D2) to extreme (D3) drought which improved to moderate (D1) to severe (D2) drought with rainfall activity through the month.
The wider storm
Prolonged periods of dry weather across much of Southeast Florida since the winter months led to drought conditions entering August. Summer rainfall focused over western portions of the peninsula allowed for some improvement of the drought over the southern Everglades but areas of the east coast metropolitan areas suffered worsening of the drought due to limited rainfall.
