Gusty west-northwest winds were observed across eastern New Mexico in the wake of an upper level disturbance during the mid and late morning hours after sunrise. A mesonet station southeast of Vaughn observed a brief 59 mph wind gust during this time. Winds across eastern New Mexico tapered off during the early to mid afternoon hours.
