Picture from sheriff showing cars in flooded on Frontier road with water nearly up the height of the tire. This flooding closed the road for an unknown duration of time. A nearby rain gauge recorded 0.08 inches of rainfall.

Wider weather episode

Strong thunderstorms occurred on the afternoon and evening of August 15th, 2025 that produced nickel sized (0.88 inch) hail in San Simon, AZ. Additionally, heavy rainfall from thunderstorms caused flash flooding and closed Frontier Road in Cochise County.
