Event narrative

Rockcastle County dispatch reports downed trees along Buffalo Hollow Road (CR-1358), southwest of Berea.

Wider weather episode

A stationary front located along the Ohio River on the morning of the 6th, eventually lifted north as a warm front during the day, as a low pressure center developed in southern Missouri and moved eastward towards the state. While this was taking place, a complex of storms developed in the warm/moist sector, near the surface low, quickly tracking eastward in the best area of instability and moisture. More storms developed along the center of low pressure, but the first round of storms continued to treck eastward and into the JKL county warning area (CWA). Warnings were issued across central and eastern Kentucky as the storms moved through. The strongest of these storms impacted the southwestern CWA, resulting in damaging wind gusts.
