Mesonet site FW2280 near Jersey City measured a 44 knot wind gust.

With the approach of a shortwave aloft and a pre-frontal trough showers and thunderstorms were able to spark in an unstable environment characterized by about 1000 J/kg of MLCAPE. One storm was able to become severe and produce isolated damaging winds.
