Very gusty winds from all directions, but less than 60 mph. Very heavy rainfall. Hail report of one inch.
Wider weather episode
Storms developed along the Black Hills just to the west and south of Sturgis during the rally. A storm coming off the Black Hills was able to produce a funnel cloud on the west side of Rapid City that had a lot of exposure.
