Hurricane Erin passed well offshore and combined with high pressure to the north, resulting in a period of strong onshore winds and coastal flooding across the Lower Maryland Eastern Shore. Bishop's Head reached moderate tidal flooding thresholds four times, 3.71 feet MLLW 10:48 PM EST on May 21, 3.92 feet MLLW at 10:48 AM EST on May 22, 4.19 feet MLLW at 1:00 AM EST on May 23, and 3.73 feet MLLW at 23:48 PM on May 23. The tide gauge at Cambridge also went above moderate tidal flooding thresholds with a reading of 4.26 feet MLLW at 3:42 AM EST on May 23.
