Thunderstorm wind gusts broke a 3-inch diameter tree branch.

Wider weather episode

A strong mid-level wave crashed southeastward toward the Great Lakes and drove a sharp southward moving cold front through the area during the evening and overnight of September 2-3, 2025. Scattered late afternoon and evening thunderstorms developed within the environment of around 1500 J/kg MUCAPE and 25 knots of deep-layer shear, with the strongest storms producing quarter size hail and some minor wind damage.
