A north-northeast wind gust of 36 knots was recorded at the Naval Air Station Key West Boca Chica Field.

Two deep thunderstorm cells in the coastal waters off southwest Florida produced outflow boundaries which focused new thunderstorm development. Several gale-force wind gusts occurred as the thunderstorms moved south-southwest from the Gulf side to oceanside of the Lower Florida Keys.
