A north wind gust of 40 knots was measured by a WeatherFlow station at Carysfort Reef Light.
The wider storm
Thunderstorms initially moving westward toward southern Miami-Dade County collided with a southward-moving outflow boundary along the coastline. A large thunderstorm development at the collision point moving southwest along the nearshore waters of Key Largo.
Began near Carysfort Reef Light (25.2200, -80.2100).
