Event narrative

A family of as many of four waterspouts were observed about 2 to 3 miles south of Stock Island by NWS employees and the public. The waterspouts were narrow and upright, with condensation funnel clouds reaching the water surface. No spray rings could be observed.

Wider weather episode

A convective cloud line developed around sunrise along the south side of the Lower Florida Keys, producing several waterspouts. The cloud line quickly dissipated by mid morning.
