An east-northeast wind gust of 37 knots was measured at the navigational light at Sand Key.

Wider weather episode

Isolated gale-force wind gusts occurred in association with thunderstorms initially forming along convective island cloud lines. Later in the evening, and outflow boundary from thunderstorms forming along the southwest Florida Keys produced additional gale-force wind gusts.
