A funnel cloud was viewed by several law enforcement officers and storm chasers.

The wider storm

A weak mid-level wave dropped slowly southeast across northern Minnesota on the afternoon and evening of September 21 and into an environment with 35 kts of deep-layer shear and 1000-1500 J/kg MUCAPE. Scattered slow-moving thunderstorms developed in the vicinity of a diffuse warm frontal boundary and produced hail up to 1.75 to 2 inches in diameter.

Began near Luverne (43.7000, -96.2100).
