Event narrative

A fallen power pole and tree branches have been reported by the 911 Call Center via email, blocking the roadway on PR-5 in Bayamon. The obstruction is located just before the exit toward Avenida Los Millones. This incident occurred as the outer bands of Hurricane Erin moved onshore.

Wider weather episode

Major Hurricane Erin moved northeast and north of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Erin's Outer Bands and then Feeder Bands still affected the islands, producing strong thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rains across the islands. Several reports of wind gust damage, along with reports of high surf, flooding and debris flow were received between August 16 to 18.
